GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Civil construction on Zone 1 is 40% complete
  • The first facility (Quantum V3) on Zone 1 is breaking ground in April 2024.
  • The EGL Building will be refurbished by July 2024.
  • The applications for Zone 2 and 3 civil infrastructure and the Green Manufacturing Hub have been submitted to the DTIC.

  • Reduces carbon
  • Resource efficient Socially inclusive on the basis of this,
  • We view our infrastructure development as a living laboratory.
  • The implication is that we aim to be on the forefront of sustainable infrastructure development.

The civil designs have included bicycle lane to promote the use of bicycles in Zone 1. A small portion of the sidewalk is earmarked for solar paving, which will contribute to the amount of energy generated from renewable resources. The Quantum V3 structure has 62% of the roof covered in solar panels, which will supply a considerably amount of the factory’s required energy. The remainder of the roof is to be constructed with clear polycarbonate sheeting, reducing the amount of alternative lighting required. Certain portions of the structure are to be built with hempcrete, which is a carbon-negative building material. Lastly, landscaping is an important aspect of the facility, increasing the its carbon-absorption.

A portion of Zone 1 is earmarked for a future waste sorting facility. The Quantum V3 building also has a dedicated waste management area included in the design.
